Niche Down

My first blogposts were about all the things- I thought I could write about everything and anything and then I realized I was struggling to find my target audience.

Ways To Niche Down:

Self-Reflecting: Identifying your passions, and unique skills.

Think to yourself, Is this my passion? Will I run out of content ideas to help my audience? What are their interests, challenges, and preferences? Understanding your audience is fundamental to niching down.

Competitor Analysis: Analyze your competitors within your chosen niche. See what they are doing well and where there may be opportunties to make your brand different and stand out.

Keyword research: Understand the search terms and phrases your target audience is using.

Tools like RankIQ is a one-of-a-kind SEO toolset build just for bloggers. Their 1-year study showing that Mediavine blogs using RankIQ increased their Google traffic 468% more than the Mediavine blogs not using RankIQ.

Using SEO tools such as RankIQ helps your research process for keywords, competitor analysis, better rankings, tracking, backlink analysis, following trends and customized suggestions generating reports and analytics to help you improve your SEO.

Market Research:

Identify trends, pain point and needs and growth prospects that may impact your business.

Pain point example:

Being a mom who wants to be there for every soccer game, school event, and bedtime story, yet feeling the financial strain of not having a steady income.

Traditional jobs just don’t cut it when they require sacrificing precious moments with your kids.

Need:
That’s where the need for a source of passive income kicks in.

Something that lets you take control of your schedule and earn while actively participating in your children’s lives. Sounds like a dream come true for a mama, am I right?!

It could include starting a blog, affiliate marketing, virtual assisting or providing a course in your niche.

Blogging is going to change your life and your character.

Since I started my blog at the end of 2022, my whole life has changed.

  • I started paying more attention to how I spend my free time.
  • My daily/weekly/monthly scheduled changed completely.
  • I gained confidence in myself.

The last point really hits home for me. I never considered myself confident and have grown so much in that aspect.

Having a blog, a business of my own has been a life changing experience.

Seeing the time I put in, the determination to keep going when I wasn’t seeing results shows that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Blogging is a lot of work.

-Design of website
-Coming up with content ideas
-Researching
-Writing valuable blog posts
-Constantly improving your writing skills
-Creating Pin-able Images, Descriptions & Titles
-Learning SEO
-Growing Social Media
-Getting Traffic
-Learning Email Marketing
-Creating Lead Magnets
-Getting subscribers
-Learning Affiliate Marketing
-Creating a digital product

Whew, I know that sounds like a lot. It’s a constant learning experience.

I also discovered along the way – that everything I learned was free up until a certain point where I just felt like there was something missing- like I had to of been doing something wrong, after 2 years.

Yes, after 2 years your still considered a newbie blogger!

So, I decided it was time to invest in myself and in order to learn how to earn money from home, I would have to obtain the skills through education.
