Since having young children I realized now is the time to start our Christmas traditions and create memories. A lot of my ideas are inexpensive, memorable and easy to create. I’m a big DIY’er so as often as I can I try to create my own things to make them more personable and a lot of times, less toxic!
Some of my favorite Christmas traditions included spending time with my family, going to Grandmas and having a dinner Christmas Eve, Christmas lights, Hot chocolate and watching Holiday movies.
Now that I’m older and have little ones of my own, I look forward to passing some Christmas traditions down and also creating new ones that includes cozying up in Pjs, watching movies, playing games and reading books.
A tradition is something that occurs year after year. If you do something each Christmas, your kids will be sure to remember and look forward to it each year.
I feel it is important to create Christmas traditions so that when my kids look back on their childhood they remember all the special memories we created together and will pass along to their family.
Here are some Christmas traditions to help create and make the season more memorable. Our Christmas traditions focus on spending time together as a family and bonding. Creating memories that will become tradition and for your little ones to remember for a lifetime.

Driving around with some Hot Chocolate is the best! We have a lot of neighbors that really enjoy decorating, such an easy and inexpensive activity that everyone will enjoy!
We do both! I will have my toddler pick out his own ornament at the store each year; its so neat to see what their into each year!
See my post on DIY Salt Dough Ornaments- so easy and fun to pass around to family with their little fingerprints as a ornament!
This was a favorite Christmas tradition growing up, going with my church and singing to neighbors. I also loved going to Church Christmas Eve and being apart of the lighting service.
I love this – its a easy count down to Christmas and a great Christmas tradition to begin at any age. Wrap up all your little ones favorite books and mix in some Christmas related ones. This helped us read a book each night and it was exciting to unwrap the book as a countdown!
Decorating and handing them out to neighbors is always so much fun and a easy gift for everyone. We like to keep it simple and bake our most delicious cookie recipe – found here – and place them in a festive baggie!
This projector is great! It really makes watching movies so much more fun. Some of our favorites are the Grinch, The Christmas Engine and Santa Claus is comin to town.
This Christmas tradition is a great way to look back and see how much our little ones have changed in the years. Instead of taking our littles to Santa, I like to do a at home photoshoot. That way instead of spending all the extra money and them being scared, we are in the comfort of our home and can do a lot of repeat photos if needed! The backdrops are so creative and great quality.
Okay okay I use to think this was so cliché but it is so cute for photos and the pajamas are always comfy from this distributer! I wear mine all year round so to me its worth the investment.
This was so fun and so customizable. Each morning we would have our toddler pick a roll to tear into.

This Christmas Tradition is fun and you can make a snowman, Santa or something different each year!
