BBQ Cauliflower Wings are not only the best way to enjoy cauliflower but they are a delicious vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, palo and low carb alternative to your classic chicken wings.
Plus, they are simple to make with pantry friendly ingredients that you can customize with whatever you have on hand!
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). This high temperature will help achieve a crispy texture.
Prepare the cauliflower: Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets. Make sure the florets are similar size for even cooking.
Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until you have a smooth batter. Adjust the consistency by adding more flour or milk if needed.
Coat the cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, making sure it is coated well.
Arrange on baking sheet: Place a wire rack on a baking sheet to allow air circulation. Arrange the battered cauliflower on the rack, Make sure florets are not touching each other.
Bake in the oven: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy. You can flip them halfway through for even browning.
Heat the BBQ sauce: While the cauliflower is baking, warm the barbecue sauce in a saucepan over low heat. If desired, add extra spices or hot sauce for more flavor.
Coat cauliflower in BBQ sauce: Once the cauliflower is done, transfer it to a large mixing bowl. Pour the warmed barbecue sauce over the cauliflower and toss until each piece is evenly coated.
Serve and Enjoy: Arrange the BBQ cauliflower wings on a serving plate, and optionally garnish with fresh green onion. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
