Here I am, 10 years after eating a strict pescatarian diet, changing to more of a omnivore diet.

I know I inspired a lot of people to reevaluate their eating habits and spoke about the documentary that changed my life, Genetic Roulette: The Gamble Of Our Lives

Although I noticed a lot of positive impacts of mindful eating, reading labels and choosing organic, I also made the decision not to eat meat.

How did I get here you ask?

Let’s recap when I was pregnant with my first son.

Pregnancy is a whirlwind of emotions, cravings, and surprises.

After failing my gestational diabetes test, it threw a curveball my way. I met with a nutritionist, where we discovered a crucial piece of the puzzle – insufficient protein intake.

As the weeks progressed, I realized my hunger wasn’t just typical pregnancy cravings but a signal from my body.

The lack of protein left me feeling unsatisfied, leading to overeating and disrupted portion control.

It was a lightbulb moment that reshaped my approach to nutrition during this precious time.

Navigating gestational diabetes meant not just monitoring sugar levels but also understanding the vital role protein played in maintaining a healthy balance.

Adjusting my diet became a process of finding protein-rich sources that catered to both my taste buds and my growing baby’s needs.

Yep…the end to my meatless days was as simple as hearing what my body had to say and finally listening.

Ironically, this path has come full circle; my current eating mirrors the flavors of my childhood, guiding me back home.

Here, we care about quality ingredients but delicious is the most important.
